LM-R

An object.
A complete
experience.

One product asset developed across CGI, motion and real-time interaction — from precise geometry and material response to browser-ready delivery.

01THE BRIEF

One asset.
Multiple outputs.

Create one production-ready BBS LM-R asset for close-up CGI, assembly motion and an interactive browser experience.

The study focuses on the LM-R’s split-spoke geometry, deep aluminium barrel and exposed fastening system — developed as one coherent object rather than separate presentation assets.

02STRUCTURE

the surface.

Geometry → Surface

Clean topology preserves the silhouette; separate components preserve the assembly logic. Drag the divider to compare the finished surface with the geometry underneath.

One master model drives both the finished render and the technical view.

03SURFACE & LIGHT

Light is
the material test.

Brushed aluminium, polished edges, satin gold and small fasteners are separated by reflection behaviour — not colour alone.

01 / CAP / FASTENERS

Surface, separated.

The center cap, ABS backing and polished fasteners are isolated to show how finish, material and scale work together.

Reflection defines the form.

Satin gold and polished fasteners separate through highlight shape and roughness, not colour alone.

03 / CENTER / MICRO DETAIL

Detail that survives the close-up.

Embossed markings, machined recesses, satin gold and the red center cap remain legible at inspection distance.

04MOTION / SCROLL SEQUENCE

An image shows it.
Motion explains it.

The exploded sequence follows the wheel’s component hierarchy. Scroll drives the assembly from complete object to separated construction — and back again.

05WEB DELIVERY / MEASURED ASSETS

Less weight.
Same identity.

The browser version is treated as a production target, not an afterthought. Separate desktop and mobile assets preserve the silhouette and metal response while reducing mobile asset weight by 62%.

File sizes measured from the delivered GLB assets. This is asset weight, not a loading-time benchmark.

01

Protect the silhouette.

Reduce density where it changes the product read least.

02

Spend pixels deliberately.

Match texture resolution to the size of the object on screen.

03

Keep the metal response.

Translate production shading into a real-time material setup.

06MOBILE DELIVERY

Same object.
Smaller viewport.

The same product experience is adapted to a smaller viewport with a lighter asset and product-focused framing, while keeping the core inspection workflow intact.
